Music Monday: Hole in the World

Natalie Cole … David Bowie … Alan Rickman … Glenn Frey. Their Deaths, losing them in such rapid-fire succession has left me dancing with my own sense of mortality and is the catalyst behind this weeks song choice.

The song was written in response to September 11, 2001, and the horrors of watching the towers come down; only to realize that for those of us left behind, life goes on. It can feel like such a cruel joke.

I think this song eloquently speaks to the human need to cultivate a muscle I call resilience. It speaks to ones’ ability to dig deep and find the heart and courage to carry on with the business of living.
