In 2008 my life went to the dogs. September 11, 2008 was the day this lovely creature officially became my psychiatric service dog(PSD).Walking through life with a service dog at my side has profoundly changed me from the inside out.
It’s been said that Einstein’s theory of relativity came to him in a flash and he spent the rest of his life trying to understand and fully articulate that flash of insight. I feel much the same way. I remember trusting in my gut that a service dog was the right choice for me; but it has taken my conscious mind and the circumstances in my life a whole lot longer to catch up to that understanding.
I hope you’ll join me on my journey as I take a stand for my mental health and wellness and together we can participate in a much larger conversation that seeks to end the stigma surrounding mental illness.

What an amazing idea having psychiatric service dogs I never knew they existed. Good luck on your journey I look forward to sharing it with you via this blog. 🙂

I think more people need animals. Expressing love became such a complicated thing these days and animals could help in them. Have fun with yours.

I’m looking forward to following your blog. I write about depression, and even though I don’t have a service pet, I sure do miss my dog and cats! The cats especially brought such peace and calm into my life. I know a service dog does so much more, but the love of an animal is an amazing gift!

The value of a loving animal is something I miss. Where I live I can’t have a pet. I love the photo you have here – venturing forward together.

I have two dogs right now, not as talented as yours, I’m sure , but wonderful in their own way. Animals have such great healing power, I think!

Is your dog an Eskie? Mine serves as an Emotional Support Animal, but not a service dog. Pets can be so therapeutic.

She’s akita and Jindo. I can honestly say I would not be alive today if not for my animals. Your eskie is lovely and I certainly do see a resemblance.
